When first introduced to Twitter earlier this year I was skeptical about the benefits of Twitter. Without getting actively involved it was hard to see the benefits over having a facebook status and a Twitter account. Now I see it loud and clear.
So what is Twitter? Well for the unitiated there is a very good explantion by evhead here.
From personal benefits in following the Tweets of like minded peers, to successfully applying Twitter as a brand enhancement, and recently the successful application of President elect Obama, utilising Twitter as a communication to aid his campaign. Twitter has become one powerful social media tool.
In recent months we have added various accounts to Twitter to aid in spreading the conservation message at Australia Zoo. There are a number of other Zoos and conservation organisations also sharing the benefits that Twitter has to offer.
In the last month alone I have connected with a tonne of peers from across the globe I might not have otherwise connected with if it was not for Twitter.
Some people I can certainly recommend to follow on Twitter if you share the same interests in design, development, blogging and all other online goodness.
