Using Online Video to Market Your Business

Recently a colleague (Yvette Adams @ www.thecreativecollective.com.au) invited me to speak at a monthly meeting in the local region called “Web Wednesday”. The focus of this meeting was how to market and build your business by using online video. I have made a point to focus heavily on online video in the past 4-5 years as there has been a big shift over that period and it is still evolving. With the continuing advancements of broadband, the Flash player and Flash Media Server and sites such as www.youtube.com, www.vimeo.com and content providers www.hulu.com and www.revision3.com now is the time to start moving your business into the world of online video.

I could talk in detail about a lot of the points in the following SlideShare presentation for hours but this presentation was more geared towards touching on the important elements of online video and related marketing techniques. We even got a mention in the Sunshine Coast Daily.

Traveling to Tanzania and experiencing what this amazing country has to offer is potentially a once in a life time opportunity. With my learning DSLR photography and filming exploits of the last 6-8 months I am prepped and ready to capture every moment that counts during my trip.

Nikon D90 HD Video Test

Recently I have been out and about taking photos and stumbled upon this awesome RC race track. I thought this might be the perfect opportunity to test out the video recording for the Nikon D90. Important point for the D90 video is locking the AE (auto exposure). Manual focus for video is something I have to get used to on this camera. See the result below.

Tanzanian Dream

My first official post on my trip to Tanzania. It’s only 14 days and counting and I have been thinking about this trip since late November 2008. On June 7 I will be traveling to Tanzania on a trip that is likely to change my perspective on life itself, so I expect this trip to be life changing. It was a dream to have created an online competition that brought me to meet the Alexander’s, Christina and Godwin.

On November 15, 2008, Australia Zoo played host not only to thousands of people for the 2nd annual Steve Irwin Day, but some very special guests invited from Tanzania. I played somewhat of a humble host and fell in love with the nature of the Alexander’s and the beautiful souls that are Christina and Godwin.

I will be embarking on a 3 week journey of Tanzania, visiting the Alexander’s, Christina and Godwin, here is a simple breakdown of my itinerary.

• Dar es Salaam – June 8
• Moshi – June 10 (Christina’s village)
• Arusha – June 12
• Serengeti – June 13
• Ngorongoro – June 17
• Zanzibar – June 21
