A Great Ocean Road Indeed
October 11, 2010 By  Bruce With  1 Comment
In  iPhone 4  /  Nikon D90  /  Panorama  /  Photography

I have just spent the last 4 days traveling the Great Ocean Road for my Love the Pano (panoramic) photography. Boy what a 4 days it has been. Traveling to Melbourne, hiring a car and just me and the Great Ocean Road and almost 2000 photos.

This mini journey and hopefully other journeys to follow is part of my “Chose my Photography Adventure”, where the twitterverse can participate and tweet/vote my next photography destination. For obvious reasons I have to limit the destinations for each vote, as I don’t want to end up being sent to Antarctica… yet.
The most surprising thing for me was the amount of tourists traveling the Great Ocean Road. I expected some but not that many.

Sunrise at the 12 Apostles

The Twelve Apostles really stood out as the highlight of the trip. This coastline captured my heart and I ended up spending 2 days just focused on the apostles alone. I really had to pinch myself to even have this opportunity to be photographing something so magnificent yet completely natural. Venturing down the cliff faces of Gibson’s Step at sunrise one morning to get as close as possible without getting swept up in the oncoming tide. Amazing! Exhilarating!

Thanks to my trusty iPhone4 I managed to keep everyone up to date with daily blog posts and photos from the day. Check them out for yourself and also check out my Flickr collection (to date) from this trip. Look forward to keeping you all up to date on the next trip.
