Bird Island or Pulau Burung (in Indo speak) is a small island off the coast of Belitung Island. It’s known for the rock formation in the front facing section of the island, which is shaped like a bird rising from the waters. I get it, but it’s not what attracted me to the island. On the west coast of Bird Island I found a cove that was sheltered from the weather whipped up by the sea. Like finding a cristal clear lake in a dry desert, when I stumbled on this location I was stopped in my tracks and simply immersed myself within this beautiful nature to capture the essence of it’s beauty.
