Found an interesting location for some fishing boats hiding behind some mangroves, with the light of the coal ports behind illuminating the background. Fishing for a living is a tradition throughout Asia and in Bengkulu is much the same. Although a lot of people have moved on to more profitable areas in Indonesia. I just wish the people of Indonesia had more love for the world around them instead of thinking that more money will make them happy. This is such a beautiful area that has been turned into an eye sore. Every where I go I see nothing but pilfering from the surrounds. This one beautiful location near the port of Bengkulu has stock piles and stock piles of coal, blackening all the surrounds and when I reached the beautiful beach after travelling through the stock piles, it was more trucks removing the gorgeous golden sand. There is no location with this golden sand much like you find on Australian beaches, but here it’s only good for cement. So that too is being collected. Perhaps my struggles to keep sharing the beauty of this world are starting to suffer with this swim against the tide I have embarked on. Rant over.
