Prison Safari

Prison Safari

Prison Safari is a combination of elements from two different photography trips, one to Port Arthur and another to the Serengeti of Africa.

Creating the HDR images

I created a panoramic HDR image of the Port Arthur Penitentiary by taking multiple bracketed images in portrait mode. I use portrait mode when taking panoramic photos to try to escape any geographic distortion. I then created the individual HDR images in Photomatix. In total the original image was made up of 5 HDR frames stitched together. The stitching was done in photoshop cs5.

Little Tern Series

I arrived at one of the best wetlands areas in Australia not long ago and was given a brilliant display of acrobatics from the amazing Little Terns that feed in the area. I managed to capture a series of images but ultimately decided on two images that i liked best. Here are those two images and the near frames that I was also considering.
