Most gulls, particularly Larus species, are ground nesting carnivores, which will take live food or scavenge opportunistically. Live food often includes crabs and small fish. Apart from the kittiwakes, gulls are typically coastal or inland species, rarely venturing far out to sea.[citation needed] The large species take up to four years to attain full adult plumage, but two years is typical for small gulls. Large White-Headed Gulls are typically long-lived birds, with a maximum age of 49 years recorded for the Herring Gull.

In October I continued my journey of taking 365 iPhone photos for the year, at least one photo per day or multiple photos and choosing my favourite photo of the day from that. October was a big month as it included my first choose my adventure journey to the Great Ocean Road. Below is a gallery of my selected iPhone photos from October. The Joker Returns
The Brisbane Zombie Walk of 2010 was huge. Thousands of zombies took to the streets of Brisbane. The complete flickr set is here. Well 30 odd from the 400 photos I took.
The Brisbane Zombie Walk is an annual event that started in 2004 and has grown in size each year, with the 2009 walk holding the unofficial record for the largest Zombie Walk in the world.
The Brisbane Zombie walk is also a charity event helping to raise funds for the Brain Foundation of Australia.
