It can be a tricky prospect at times to change your lenses out in the field. Here are a couple of tips for you to follow so you don’t do any damage or limit any potential dust entering the camera. When removing a lens from on the camera always have the replacement lens ready to go nearby. As you remove the lens from the camera, point the camera body down to restrict any potential dust particles entering the body and landing on the censor, it’s not a fun job having to clean the censor of your camera.

Avoid changing your lens in dusty or windy environments such as the beach or the desert. If you desperately need to change your lens in these environments then try and find a bit of a safe zone, like inside a vehicle out of the wind. Have everything ready to and try to clean the camera externally of any dust prior to changing lenses.
