It has become my mission to document the lives of the remaining critically endangered elephants of Sumatra and bring faces and names to this seemingly unstoppable tragedy unfolding before our eyes. I travel each month visiting the elephant camps of Sumatra to photograph the captive elephants. There are only 1500 wild elephants remaining in Sumatra and 500 captive elephants. They are facing a crisis and will be extinct in as short as 10-20 years if things do not change. I want to photograph their plight and help raise funds and awareness for the plight of these beautiful animals. I am in the process of putting a book together documenting all the provinces and their elephants, wild and captive.
