In the far reaching outback of South Australia is an old ghost town named Farina. I paid a visit for a few days in 2012, and it was amazing and eerie to witness an old town of yesteryear. This old car I found riddled with bullets and it made for a great subject.
Once a vital railway hub and agricultural service centre in the far north of South Australia, Farina has been a ghost town for decades. And like many abandoned Outback settlements, the old buildings have fallen to ruin. But as Kerry Staight reports, a dedicated group of volunteers is determined to save what’s left of the crumbling structures and the stories behind them.
