Today marked a great day for progress on a particular elephant project in North Bengkulu.
It has been a work in progress to build an electric fence at the elephant conservation center in Seblat, Bengkulu, South Sumatra. The camp elephants that I have been photographing for 6 years needed an improved quality of life and this project will take steps towards ensuring that. The electric fence will allow the elephants to live chain free, mingle together as a herd and provide the potential to breed.
Today the fence was completed along with solar energy to power the electric fence. Big boy Dino was our first test subject and once inside he could not get enough of the amount of space he had and all the places he could go. Clearly enjoying the freedom to roam we left Dino alone for a few hours to enjoy and explore. Safe to say the first test went off with flying colours.
Once inside Dino was not coming back out. Really loved the space and freedom.
