New iPhone Pano with some HDR goodness.
Prison Safari is a combination of elements from two different photography trips, one to Port Arthur and another to the Serengeti of Africa.
Creating the HDR images
I created a panoramic HDR image of the Port Arthur Penitentiary by taking multiple bracketed images in portrait mode. I use portrait mode when taking panoramic photos to try to escape any geographic distortion. I then created the individual HDR images in Photomatix. In total the original image was made up of 5 HDR frames stitched together. The stitching was done in photoshop cs5.
I’ve been experimenting with the Nikkor 105mm Macro lens. From Hornets in Cambodia to grasshoppers in Australia, this lens is simply amazing. All of these shots are off tripod so I’ll also have to experiment with the tripod and proper […]
With photography subjects that is. Unfortunately on an economic level the country is really poor. Recently I traveled throughout Cambodia for 3 weeks and I experienced various aspects of provinces from the city of Phnom Penh to the jungle rich […]
It makes me sick to think that a company can come into a neighboring country and cause such devastation to a remote wilderness area and not even once consider any environmental impact that this might have.
For me I can think of nothing more than solely focusing on my love and my passion for creativity. I’ve had a burning passion for creativity since a very early age. For me it’s a tragedy for any “artist” to […]
On behalf of my Brother (Jason) I am posting his written account of his experience during the Earthquake that struck Christchurch, New Zealand on February 22nd.
The Earthquake Story (where Disaster meets Adventure)
Brett and I were due to take off from Brisbane at 4:30 on Monday for a 2 day workshop in Christchurch, But a doctor’s visit in the morning threatened to keep us grounded before we even got to the airport, some antibiotics later and the trip was set, only to be delayed by not 1 but 2 serious storm cells. Later in the afternoon my wife (Andrea) reported our house was flooded from a leak in the roof and big tree branches had come down in the backyard. So after 3.5 hrs delay (including an hour on the tarmac) we took off around 8pm Brisbane time and a non eventful flight until near landing we went through some turbulence that makes the tower of terror at Dreamworld look lame. We landed ok at 2am local time, picked up our car and made our way to the hotel, hit the sack at 3am local time and set the alarm for 7:45am.
It’s been a seriously busy start to the year. I have had a lot of client work roll in so once again my time has been very limited towards working on my niche site. I have to say it’s not really work, i’m having a ball with delivering cool content when I can and providing tips and tricks wherever I can.
I have a few updates to share with you and despite not having a lot of time to throw into it, things continue to grow.
Traffic and Keyword Monthly Comparison
Below is a comparison between February and January for my top 4 keywords/phrases and the improvements as you can see are going nicely. These top 4 keywords also just happen to be the main keywords I am targeting and i’m on the 1st or 2nd page of Google for all of these keywords with time-lapse content.
My love for photography has taken the next step. In my experiences in moving and progressing with my photography I want to share as much as possible. With that in mind I have two blogs running that focus on photography niches, time-lapse photography and panoramic photography.
